The full timeline from measurement to install is typically one to two weeks, and the two things that stretch it are a slab that has to be special-ordered and cabinets that are not ready when the measure is scheduled. We confirm your dates at the consultation and again at measurement.
The six steps, and how long each one takes
- Consultation — one visit. Layout, material, sink, edge and a quote. Same day for a simple kitchen.
- Material selection — as long as you like. Confirm the slab in person; if it is a special order, this is where the clock starts.
- Sink selection — decided before measurement. The cutout is cut to the exact sink, so it needs to be chosen (and ideally on site) first.
- Measurement — about an hour on site, once the cabinets are installed and level and the sink, cooktop and faucet are on site or specified.
- Fabrication — the slabs are laid out for grain, cut, edged and polished. This is the bulk of the one-to-two-week window.
- Installation — one day. Tops are set, seams are joined and finished, cutouts are checked, and the kitchen is cleaned.
After installation
Plumbing is reconnected after the tops are in — by your plumber or as arranged on the quote — and seam adhesive and caulk need a short cure before heavy use. Natural stone is sealed at install; quartz needs nothing.
